I have no problem with that as long as I don't have to divulge any company info. All the execs here are shocked at how one sided the results are. They were prepared to buy dual P4 xeons for this now I don't know what's going to happen. Unfortunately, we've been a Dell only shop for the longest time.

p.s. No cpu specific optimizations were done even though I can't see how we could. This is a large codebase not some dinky benchmark.

I'd have to take a look at it, but there is a degree of interest being generated at JC Labs. I'd love to have someone verify how encompassing this particular task is (for example, rc5 is really strong on the K7, but the characteristics of its code are found almost nowhere else on the planet, so it is valid as a benchmark only for what it does).

I think that's going a bit far there. There are plenty of real world tests at which the Athlon is not superior. Just because a test has optimized code or happens to do a lot of data transfer does not make it not real world.
