My opinion is that most things will be back to normal relatively shortly.

The airports are implementing emergency procedures right now that are causing extra delays because the process is not well defined. These security delays will cause extreme difficulties for travellers to the point where they will chose not to travel. This will kill the airlines at an economic level. Therefore, you can bet that the airlines and government agencies are working to come up with a security procedure that is at the same time both secure and efficient. There is little point to having a security process that kills the airlines, so I am confident that selfish motivations of the airline industry will affect positive change.

And as more time separates us from the attack, the attack will become a little less tangible to us as individuals in our day to day activities. In other words, our will to live our lives the way we are accustomed will overshadow the fear of terrorist attacks.

I honestly believe that the citizens of the U.S. cherish the freedom in which we live our lives. We will tolerate some minor inconveniences, but I don't think that we will tolerate the government hindering our ability to move about freely at a large level.

So, I won't be shorting LUV. If you are going to sell your stock, why would you be selling puts? Selling puts implies that you expect them to expire worthless by the stock price going up. Or are you doing this so that, if the stock price falls, you get it put to you at a lower price?
