G...>>>I cannot comment because of my ignorance.<<<

That has never stopped any of us frequent posters from making comments...:)

The BTB comes out today or tomorrow...any ideas how the market will react to those numbers??

Regards, Jerome

A comment on the litho coment:

Litho is the key process in current chip fabrication. Without litho progress, progress in other tools is wasted. There are 3 players worldwide in litho, ASML, Canon, and Nikon. ASML has gone from nowhere to number one in the last 9 years. I think it is a joke to advise avoiding a group, but then recommending a sub-contractor whose business is becoming increasingly competitive and whose main customers include 2/3 that have a history of preferred buying from fellow countryman.

Maybe the TMF poster I quoted in #52654 wasn't so knowledgable. He had said

"Typical current contracts prohibit AMAT field personnel from even LOOKING at anything else other than the specific toolset they are supporting. Many chip manufacturers also explicitly prohibit feld support personnel from looking at production recipes used on the AMAT tools themselves, or looking at the AMAT tools while running a production recipes. Don't know who at AMAT came up with this, but I cannot see anyone other than a third tier chip maker using this service."

but another poster replied...

????? When will this info be distributed to us Field Support Personnel. Don't kid yourself

Maybe I should stop quoting people from other sites because they're not here where you can question them.
