I like today, and do not wish a return to the past. You are fond of quoting Jefferson, why don't you like Lincoln?

I merely posted it as a juxtaposition to the constant drivel I hear that wants to invoke God but refuses to acknowledge His sovereignty and holiness. I thought it was refreshing, and wanted to see if some of the religion bashers here, would want to take on old Abe. That (invoking God), has never(as long as I've known you) been your problem. But then again, neither have you been espousing your moral relativity in regards to the last weeks events. HMMMMM.... I wonder why? Could it be that those acts were actually evil? With all the accompanying ramifications?

"People would then automatically do what is right, even though there is no right to do. "

I would like to get this straight. If I understand you there is no right without a belief in some God. Or without a belief in your God, I'm not really clear on that. And people cannot be good without God. Is that right?

No, actually that's wrong. You can have temporal and transitory standards of what you think is right, but if you want to use the words right and wrong with any kind of moral authority, then there has to be some standard beyond what you can simply IMAGINE. Of course if you are prepared to force your Imagining on others, then you can have your own little X-ocracy. Just like on SI.
