FWIW...On the DJIA, as of the close of yesterday, the Relative Strength(5 week) was ~9.2... & the RSI (12 week) was ~23.9. In Sept of 1998, the 5 week RSI was ~13.7 & the 12 week RSI was ~28.45. My weekly data goes back to 1992, and the RSI is @ the lowest right now. On monthly data(goes to 1986), with today's close my 5 month RSI is ~19.16, with the 12 month RSI ~35.27. On Nov 30, 1987 the 5 month RSI was ~24.38, with the 12 month RSI ~45.84. On Oct 31, 1990, the 5 month RSI was ~27.16 while the 12 month RSI was ~44.87. The $VIX in 1987 was >160, in 1998 ~60+...todays close ~49. Best of luck, WHG?
