Behavior should be adjusted to the provocation. If ignorant baby sister kicks more knowledgeable elder brother in the shins, elder brother expalins why this is not done, often with help of the REAL power: parents. But you are not speaking of familial situations, as we all know. You wish to defend a country who has sworn to defeat the Evil US? A country which has attacked the US without provocation? A country which treats half of its population as animals? What is the matter with you?
