I don't think that the GFMS and Gold Council are sleeping with the enemy, but let's just say maybe they are too trusting? In fact, I'll bet information from some (if not most) CB's is just being withheld, or subjected to "phony accounting" in the classic Clintonesque, "it wasn't technically sex" spinmeistering. The bottom line is I've become a real cynic about a range of issues like this. There is a whole lot of butt covering going on, and for good reason, as these rocket scientists have lost their country's gold reserves. In some places, that's probably worth a hangman's noose.

Copper stocks look healthy, but lead, zinc and nickel stocks really look to be gone. What's used the most for war material?
How about country source?

Here's some numbers on petroleum production and not the kind of data you're getting on Joseph Goebbel's TV (1999:total is 53.9 mbd:

First group is what Michael Klare "Resource Wars" calls the "strategic triangle". There's 30.9 mbd produced there.
Saudi Arabia 9.2
Iraq 2.2
UAE 2.7
Kuwait 2.2
Iran 3.8
Libya 1.4
China 3.2
Russia 6.2

Then we have such stable third world shitholes as:
Venezuela 3.3(my apologies to the great M: Edgar Martinez)
Nigeria 2.2

Safe sources (at least until an oil rig or pipeline gets blown to bits);
USA 8.0
North Sea 6.0
Mexico 3.5
