Not really. Sorry, but that is the way it is. The United States was the most free Nation of the time, and welcoming to most all. So Freedom has been with us since our inception, and is an absolute necessity for us. Peoples of other areas of the world are not so free, nor have they ever been. So they do not have the history. But they see what is going on elsewhere, and they want it. This is the problem many of these countries have - their existence as they know it is in jeopardy and they are trying to hang on.
