reholding out at even 1,2 million is justified. Anything over 10 million isn't
Well thanks.:o)
But actually it isn't justified. I had already bought plans for a house we wanted to build and at the same time I should have cashed in the money to build it. If you can turn $750,000 into 3.2 million why not take out everything but the $750,000 and start over, thereby assuring yourself 2.2 million to be earning interest on. Even at 6% that is a very respectable income of over $120,000 a year!
At the time I was hoping to give a HUGE donation to Harry Browne, our Liber. presidential candidate to see if he could garner enough votes that people would be more comfortable voting Libertarian in the future.
Delusions of grandeur I'm afraid!

Agree Mike. At $10 million that was greed. At under $1-2 million...a reasonable strategy to remain invested.

Was talking to my brother last night about all this. At the top both of us pulled some money out to pay off some debts but that was about it. We left the rest in because that is what we were taught to do...LTB&H you know. Figured I needed to make another 100 percent over the next five years to get to my long term goal. Fully invested. A sound investment strategy to me...greed really didn't seem to fit into the picture. 100% in five years?...sounds silly now. Seemed a given back then.

Nows we gotta do what we gotta do to maintain our worry levels to a reasonable point.

MARKET TALK: Shorts May Leave Before Bush Speech

Edited by Thomas Granahan
Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

2:19 (Dow Jones) Word is Goldman continues to be a buyer in S&P futures. "I
don't think too many of the current shorts in the market want to be short
going into the President's talk this evening," trader remarks. Move above 1004.00 could propel buying up to 1011.00, he says...

--------

Is this really true or just a rumor based on S&P future contracts ?
