If it was the world than it would have been the UN.

They were attacking the US and the US economy.

That is why, beyond a few real friends (like the UK), most of this public support we see is only self interest.

You're right - it was an attack on the world. The WTC was home to 430+ companies from 26 countries. So whoever thinks this is just a US problem is missing the point.

From what I understand, the British, Italians, Japanese, Australia and Germany (maybe even the French) have pledged full military support for anything the US plans. NATO has envoked Article 5 which means "an attack on one member is an attack on all members" so we should see more support (logistical most likely) from the entire NATO group. Perhaps we'll get a few other nations before long to join in as well.....

I suspect that Iraq will come to the defense of any country that is the target of any "response" - but we expect that from this nation of idiots right :)

So far - it is shaping up to be very global....
