Thanks for the news bit. I hope that your father will remain safe. For the most parts Pakistani people are good hosts and go out of their way to take care of foreign guests. I would not advertise being an American in these circumstances though.

The Pakistani government litterally will not have a leg to stand on if they push their US support too far. The situation will either have to be resolved diplomatically, or somehow Parvez has to become very popular (like win the Kashmere war). BTW, if they are smashing cars in Islamabad, I wonder what is going on in Karachi. You do not even get residency in Islamabad if you are the wrong kind of person. Kerachi on the other hand has guns and amo hidden all over the city.
