These were the same pundits that told everyone to dollar cost average in, that they were in for the "long run", don't try to time the market or at least just buy the dips...etc. They even came up with a name...finanacial planner or analyst.

A lot of people are in for the long term whether they like it or not...<G>

Nothing is ever exactly the same but the reaction of the market to the Saddam invasion may provide some insight...
