<Twice normal volume is SUPPOSED to mean something. >

All guesswork, but I suppose it means huge numbers of people are trying to save a bit of their money by selling and to avoid further losses, or have received margin calls. Those who bought are thinking that the time to buy is when everyone is panicking and they have seen that cellphones are the one hot item in the market [due to WTC publicity and huge demand for security and always being in touch].

Those who bought realize that vast printing of money and low interest rates are going to force investments into shares and they are trying to get in first, while trying to guess the bottom. Inflation is not a worry of Uncle Green$pan right now. Encouraging savings is not his concern right now. Economic recovery is top priority.

Then again, it could mean something entirely different, such as "Cellphones are great, therefore sell QUALCOMM".
