<NextWave would keep its D, E and F-Block spectrum, but the FCC must still develop buildout requirements for those frequencies.>

Why would NextWave go from the drivers seat to the back seat? I can only imagine an investor(s) got cold feet.

Bummer - I wonder who the week kneed investor was? Definitely not Q. This dream has gone from dust to reality a couple of times but it is sad to see this as another dream dashed by the bombing.

If this is true, NextWave might as well sell it all...without C-block, there's not enough left to matter....

There is actually more spectrum in the other blocks than I would have thought.

nextwavetel.com

I just did a quick addition of those non-C markets with over 1m subs and came up with around 40m subs.

Wild speculation....but almost none of those markets overlap with Leap. I believe that Leap has licenses covering 72m POP's....and since Leap's business model isnt predicated on nationwide roaming you would at least have the possability of a viable business model.

Another business model could be using 1xEV-DO as a competitor to DSL/Cable Modem. You wouldnt need roaming to have customers sign up for wireless internet access. Along the lines of M/Ergy....

Of course....they could just end up selling the D, E, and F licenses too.
