Seriously, some civil liberty give and take is going to have to happen. I don't like it, but I don't want to see any more airplanes in the hands of nuts, either.

Hope we are wise enough to handle the issue well.

The real problem is that the FBI monitoring system could be misused for private monitoring by unauthorized persons who gained access to the equipment through intimidation, bribes, etc. The danger is that a public official will not always be trustworthy and may actually cooperate with those who have other purposes in mind.
