You are overlooking mines we sold to other countries.

Which are now in the control of other countries so you will have to ask them to remove the mines.

You are overlooking mines we sold to other countries. Anything to make a buck.

For one.. you don't hold the seller responsible for how the customer uses what you sell them...

If we followed your logic, the US would be responsible for every car accident that involves a US made automobile.

Or every plane crash, no matter if caused by pilot error or abuse, would be the responsibility of the aircraft manufacturer.

Or be responsible all of the fertilizer that we sell overseas that winds up being used as an explosive...

Heck... following your logic, I could blame the refineries who made the explosive fuel in those planes which wound up melting the inner core of the WTC.

Certainly don't blame the terrorists who turned commerical airliners into flying bombs...... Lord knows THEY AREN'T TO BLAME in a Chomskyite Utopian world...

You're just one heck of a sick person Thomas...

And I have to believe that the way in which you continually vilify the United States, I have to wonder if you're not involved in some plot to overthrow its government.

Ah, yes, evil capitalism, rearing its ugly head. Of course, you do not mention that Western countries have not exported landmines in many years. I am wondering why you have refrained from deriding those nations which still make and export landmines, with the same phrase "anything to make a buck":

There are virtually no officially acknowledged exports of anti-personnel mines in the world today. Most states which continue to produce mines, such as Russia, China, Pakistan, South Korea, Turkey and the US, have moratoria on their export... Iran, Iraq, Serbia, and Vietnam are thought to be the only producers without an export moratorium.

Afica Landmines Treaty Update (Notes to Sect. 3.1, Article 1).

Takes two to tango. You need a buyer to be a seller. Plenty of blame to pass around, Thomas. Stand in line.
