Re. Therefore, sell Qualcomm

I know this is a run on joke and can be fun.

But the truth is that most of QCOM's best capital gains occurs with an overall corresponding market gain. I've read before in selection of a stock, 50% is due to asset class, 25% due to sector, and 25% due to individual stock selection. So, as irrational as it seems, there is a high correlation of QCOM performance to asset class performance.

A Disney down day that causes a market down day that cause a QCOM day is very realistic. Also, it seems that QCOM gets hit for bad news for both the wireless and the semi-conductor sectors; and lately, little credit for positive news in either.

The last six or so months, QCOM has had a higher correlation to the overall market than to it's individual or sector performance. I think a lot of this selloff is due to trading rules set up by funds and ther reaction to overall market news versus QCOM individual news, which I believe has been very strong.

We be better of cheering Dow or NASDAQ up "X", QCOM up "2X"! This is a "buy" thread!

This run on joke may be getting old and this comment an inappropriate position for the "trading" thread.
