Taking out Saddam Hussein would have put enormous pressure on the Saudis. The world would be much different today, far worse.

GHWB made the mistake of listening to the UN and stopped when it refused to increase it's mandate which was only to drive Iraq from Kuwait. GWB has proven he will ignore the UN when it's being foolish and seems determined to lead the world to finish the job.
