Prescott S. Bush held one share as a managing director. Most banks got smart and quit their relationships with Nazi German post-Pearl Harbor...not Union Banking...at least not until the capital stock was seized in 1942.

Papaya; There is no doubt The Bush Family was into cloak and dagger operations for many years , otherwise G.W sr would have never been made director of the CIA. In that world may strange things can happen. If you saw "Shendlers List" you saw that Jews gave him a lot of Money , well he was a registered Nazi. ------------------ Keep in mind you can't always judge a person by the party they belong to, there were some Nazi's that did not like Hitler, and a few even tried to assassinate him. ------------------ Then we have the old paradox of "The Enemy of my Enemy is my friend" I thought very one already knew we supplied The Afghans including Bin Laden with assistance when they were fighting the Russians. ------------------ That was all part of the cold war, and a lot of this is the spill over. As nasty as it was and still is; it more than likely kept the two super powers from ending the world at least up to now. ---------------------- When the CIA befriended the Afghan fighters and other Muslims recruited around the world and gave them enough help to defeat the Soviets, They likely knew at the time those like Bin Laden would exploit both ends , but that was then and Big the problem was the Soviets so the old "I'll deal with the fall out after this is over, "If we live that long " --------------------- There is no easy answer to many unanswered questions, Cloak and Dagger is a messy thing but like Kennedy looking at the Berlin Wall after the Air Lift, said "well the wall is better than a nuclear war " Any way I thought most people knew we helped Bin Laden , just like we helped the Sovets in the fight against Hitler all along knowing Stalin was going to be a problem as soon as it was over..
