Free to be free! To affirm that there is, in a meaningful sense, free will, not iron causality or quantum randomness, but self- determination. Free to affirm that I am a person, not an automaton with the illusion of identity. Free to affirm that values are imbedded in the universe, and that the Holocaust was not just evil because people deemed it so, but that it was evil in itself, and even if everyone thought it were right, it would still be evil. Free to think that, from the perspective of eternity, all moral events are noted and there will be some sort of final accounting. Free, in other words, from nihilism, even the heroic nihilism of Russell in "The Worship of a Free Man"......
