Bush Speech Wows Critics...

washingtonpost.com

IMO, he rose to the occasion and came across in a VERY convincing way...It was Bush's best speech ever and it inspired confidence.

Regards,

Scott

I don't think it hits triple digits this year Freep. The rally of which you speak (the large coming 'B') could last many months. But down the road would lie the big 'C' which would wash out the Nasdaq and likely reduce it to a marginal exchange like it once was. By then many of the NDX 100 will be in deep trouble and the strong ones may simply move to the big board. Who knows but I could see it.

I think the lows in the next few weeks will be the lows for the year and then some. This is assuming there is no monstrous debacle in which case the stock market will be the last thing we will need to worry about.

Freep,

There is no way anybody has a better than 50/50 idea how long the post bubble bear will last. Using Richard Russell's analysis, one can expect a bear to be 1/4 to 1/2 the duration of the preceding bull, so if we accept that the bull began in 1974, or 1982, then we are looking at a minimum of 5-6 years and a maximum of 6-9 years. Still, we have to recognize the enormity of the bubble we allowed, therefore, by all the lessons of history, this will be deeper and probably longer than almost everybody believes.
