We have policies that in the short term are in our own interests and fail to recognize that we create the
incubators of terrorism in the process.

So what do we do to create those incubators? And don't answer "global warming". Neither you nor I believe any of those hijackers were in those planes because of Kyoto.

Support of Israel? OK.

But the US has taken a position that the Kyoto protocol is not fair or fatally flawed or whatever. There is no nation that believes that Kyoto is close to perfect, but they believe one has to start somewhere and build upon the treaty.
Nuts. If they want us to sign a treaty, present us with a reasonable treaty. Not a disaster like Kyoto.

one has to start somewhere And past is prelude. And interests build up around the interests of the past and insist that a new treaty not rock the boat. And those exempted from Kyoto now will insist they be exempted next time also or THEY won't sign.
Nuts. No way.

We, along with some other major countries, provide the bulk of arms to the third world.
If US arms production were to be shut down today, you don't think the Chinese or Russians or Europeans
would, within six months, have taken up slack? Or sooner?
Do you think we are forcing the terrorists to take those arms at GUNPOINT?

Are you claiming the US arms industry CAUSES terrorism?
