To get it done will be a nasty business. It always is.

LB,
agree...but it has to be done.
so far doing little to nothing has gotten us horrific results.

i predict from the military side...

spectacular operations using all of our firepower concentrated on specific and sure targets.
surgical strikes on small but important targets.
warlike sneaky and tricky operations. some will be announced...many will be fully covert.
at every level...all of our technology will be brought to bear on the problem.

a side benefit will be a major reduction in drug trafficking due to increased security measures.

we are transforming from a victim reacting and responding to attacks into a hunter/predator willing to attack first. willing to make preemptive strikes.
willing to kill the killers in their lair.

this thing has great potential to broaden into a wider conflict. the countries supporting the terrorists are numerous and they have substantial standing armies. we will be violating borders. we will be damaging buildings that are not military targets. innocent bystanders will be killed. we will be testing the resolve of many of the terrorist harboring nations to cooperate or fight. there will be many excuses available to both sides to
escalate this war. their may be opportunities for some to venture if they perceive unusual weakness.

i predict at the first sign of a significant escalation, the draft will be reinstated.

the initial attacks will be critical...we have a real bad bloody nose already. some early success will settle the resolve in all of us. we must demonstarate that we can attack anytime, anyplace. we must clearly show that nothing and no place is off limits if it is being used by terrorists. we must persist and follow through until we get unconditional surrender or the perpetrators are all dead.

this is much bigger and much more important than viet nam or any of the conflicts since.

this is a battle for freedom and order over anarchy on a worldwide level.
this is a battle for our way of life.
this is a battle for our life.
