Hi Daryl,

Well the put/call ratio is over 1.20.

Now we need a Vix spike up into the 60's and it would appear that a buying opportunity like we have only seen in 3 or 4 times in the last 15 years.

This is uncharted waters (almost) and it is a maximum risk scenario which also offers up maximum value. It is a time to implement available cash on the blue chippers. These have (until the recent past) been immune to the decline as a harbor of safety and now they too have succumbed to the general market decline.

I remember marveling at the fact that I could've purchased Intel at a price I could easily have sold Cohu at 30 days before (in the October time period - 1998).

My game plan is to place GTC low balls on Amat and Intc at the market lows of May-Oct 98.

From past experience, you need to be almost sadisticly brutal on the lowball price. In reality your low ball price may well be the only order out there when some poor "margin call seller" capitulates and in effect says "get me out at any price" - it is then, that you may just be the only price out there.

" These are the best of times and they are the worst of times".

Purchase only that which you would like to grow old with and hopefully it will also enable you to grow wealthy as well.

Good trading and survival to all! Gulp

Bob

Overall Bush gave a good speech...even us Democrats found it to our liking. But at some point he has to move beyond the speech making. What does your friend Rush L. say about this? I don't invest much time listening to Rush, and he invests even less time listening to my viewpoints, so its all fair.
I wish I could view a capitulation point on the horizon, but its starting to feel like Tom Hanks in the movie Castaway.
