Calling the bottom: My indicators are of two types, leading and contrarian. Both types are based on investor/trader sentiment. Although the recent terrorist attack may have created distortions that affect lead times, there is every reason to think that the indicators should still function. What would impede them from working would be a lack of news from the print and televised media and/or the unavailability of stats on the 5 Sentiment surveys I use, and on mutual fund cash flows. Market and business related news continues to flow and the stats I use continue to be published.

I'll be completing my weekly analysis on Sunday, but it looks like things are falling in place for a major bottom. In particular, Stock Fund cash flows have turned significantly negative, which they always do at major lows.
