JT, I read every word, understand what you said for the most part, and for the most part agree!

We should all understand that the proposal for war from Bush may be an attempt to focus the nation and give a rally point for the market. I don't think any logical, sane, reasonable person thinks he can "smoke em out" and "get em running" etc.!

The United States historically has done a lot of things that I personally did not support. Viet Nam was the most notable in my short history and there are other lesser examples. Unfortunately the power brokers and politicians run the country, the people don't.

I didn't vote for Bush, and for the most part I don't subscribe to the "cowboy" mentality he seems to portray. Frankly, I'm surprised he can keep a straight face when he says some of the things he utters. He is a reasonably smart man and therefore cannot believe all that he says.

Last evening I saw an interview on the Larry King show with a blind man that was led down from the 78th floor by his dog. Now you may not like the blind man, but I love dogs, and I would love to see the son-of-a-bitches head explode that tried to kill the dog.

So yeah we can't win a war against these folks, the best we can hope to do is to keep shooting at them enough to make them keep their heads down. If they are too busy staying alive so they can later commit suicide, so be it. I will settle for that as long as I don't run out of bullets! ggg

You should understand that I am using the terms "shooting" and "bullets" in the logical sense. I think Bush may be doing some of the same thing. Right now his rhetoric is keeping at least some of the would-be terrorists on the run. As long as they are running and hiding, they will have a difficult time planning and an even more difficult executing any kind of a meaningful terror campaign. The more pressure, regardless of the source, we can bring to bear, the worse time these folks will have doing their will.

You folks in Europe have a unique chance to live history while we Americans typically view it from afar. Therefore you know and understand events to a far greater extent than we ever will. From this perspective I appreciate yours! Thanks for caring enough to share your perspective with me, I will always read and appreciate it!

Good luck Jury,
