<<Thanks to Reaper(ever hear of anger management?) and his kind notes, I will leave this forum and its narrow vision.>>

John
You make obviously and intentionally inflammatory comments ("Your mentality shows just how messed up this country's thinking is!"; "Tell me, are you an American?") and you are surprised that I get angry?

Frankly, I believe that it is your mentality that is mixed up; it is bad policy to bail out bad companies, and its not clear to me that it is good policy to even bail out good companies. Should the government bail out the Las Vegas hotels? How about the travel agents? How about Chubb, and GE, and the other insurance companies? Where does it stop? If the real estate market were to crack (which I think it might) should we bail out Fannie and Freddie? How about companies like Metris and Providian, who provide credit cards to low-income Americans? What about Finova, a company that once employed over 1000 people and made $ billions in loans to small/midsize businesses; Americans worked for this company and American businesses were the beneficiaries of their loans -- why shouldn't the government bail them out too (note that famed anti-American Warren Buffett just pulled the plug on a plan to re-capitalize Finova, citing his right to terminate the agreement in the event of an act of war -- are you going to send an email to Omaha criticizing Mr. Buffet's messed-up mentality?).

And again, the issue with the airlines is NOT that you and I (and my wife) fly discount airlines. The airlines made TONS of money the last three years ($30+ billion). The issue is that they squandered this money on stock buybacks and were thus totally and completely unprepared financially for a downturn. And it is my belief that they should not be bailed out for poor fiscal management, any more than Finova was not bailed out for their judgement errors.

You should not stop posting at CFZ because of me; I hardly post and the only reason I replied to you at all was that your deliberately inflammatory message was posted to me. I don't think you'll be missed, but then again I shouldn't speak for them.

Cheers
