You can always hedge with a large if globex is down, of course this doesn't work with 1 contract trades... the other way to hedge would be to write or buy an option...

true - I remember two halts of the Globex this year.
I used to have more connections drop than that, two a week (those when if wated to exit and I remember).

Hedging with a large contract won't help in ETH, and hedging with options on the Merc... little bit illiquid, no?
Leave the pure CBOE options play, but then you have many more possible strategies. And leave the relative security of fully electronic trades.
