"Then what determines the short term behavior of futures if not emotions?" Emotions may be a part, but you have different people trading at different times for different reasons. It is a very complex, open-ended system. "I agree that each market has its own characteristics, but most systems are based on those basic TA parameters such as O-H-L-C etc,etc." O-H-L-C are prices (original data), not TA parameters. What is TA? Ask yourself that question. I would say it is a system that allows one to analyze price data and determine a trade that will turn a net profit on average. If TA turns a net loss - then what good is it?
