The market can be and is called random by many but I prefer to term it chaotic. Even chaos obeys statistical laws. What appears to be patterns such as waves, flags etc, are simply prices meandering about the statistical boundaries established by human behavior relative to the higher time frames. These statistical boundaries are best observed using regression channels.
