If, in fact, a hornets nest is stirred up, don't you think the terrorist (and nation-state sponsors) are the ones who are responsible?

Given that our intention is to eradicate global terrorism, the question remains as to how this will be accomplished. Who will we have to bed with to get there? For example, Musharaff in Pakistan, has a checkered history and expediency has dictated that he support us. But how will events unfold in his country and if he is overthrown and a more fundamentalist regime comes to power what would be the ramifications for us? Musharaff and Pakistan have been at the forefront in supporting terrorist movements against India - though they say that they are supporting freedom fighters!

A destabilized Middle East and Pakistan would play into the hands of the terrorist organizations; after all, that is how Afghanistan ended up becoming one of the nations harboring terrorists.
