'Mix religion with government, you get bad religion, and worse government.'

... heard that on the radio the other day, sums it up imho ... it's just self-evidently logical - there are so many religions, so many of whom disagree so radically between themselves, and government is for all the people ... as it happens i remain agnostic on them all, on the atheist belief structure as well, i mean how do you profess to be able to prove the non-existence of some greater force, duh ... but i'm pretty sure that under any belief i'd feel the same about having the state separated from even my 'own' religion

They're all man-made constructs, governments and religions, and we're not that good at building stuff yet, best to keep it simple, eh .... cheers

[edit] - i no sooner hit submit on this but what the prime ministre of my nation comes on the radio and says 'Islam is about peace, about justice ... ' ... and his initials are JC btw, lol .... that's ok, we have to recognise that there are strong believers among us, and respect their right to choose .... good on Dubya for going to the mosque the other day, took his shoes off, listened a bit
