Agreed with Clancy on most of what he said. However: The political left is, you know, they deal in symbols rather than reality. The general difference between conservatives and liberals is liberals like pretty pictures and conservatives like to build bridges that people can drive across. And conservatives are indeed conservative because if the bridge falls down, people die. Where as the liberals figure, oh, we can always build a nice memorial to them and make people forget it happened and it was our fault. They're very good at making people forget it was their fault, all right. The CIA was gutted by people on the political left who don't like intelligence operations, and as a result of that, as an indirect result of that, we've lost 5,000 citizens last week. Sounds only like partisan politics. From 1981-1992, the conservatives held the White House. With the aid of a few Southern conservative Dems, Congress tilted right, especially from 1983 on. Yet as I recall, the CIA admitted they completely missed the ball on the USSR weakness that dropped the Wall and ended the Cold War. It's pretty disengenous to blame that on Bobby the K and Carter and Church. No doubt, there's the fuzzy headed liberals that Hollywood is fulla, but most Senate-level liberals have more substance than Clancy states. Where were Reagan and BigDaddy Bush?
