You know, it would not surprise me if people said to themselves -- I am not going to by my friend/lover/wife a gadget for Christmas -- this year I am going to go "sentimental" and buy jewelry (keep in mind that I just made that up). But that could very well be a good marketing approach and it just might work. How about a special ebay promotion for people in the military who are far from their loved ones? <vbg>.
