Patricia, if that truly happens, it will be something beautiful that this world after so many centuries of hate and sadness, despair and loneliness, should bring to all. I am a Dutch-American with both passports and Ruud Lubbers, former Dutch Prime Minister, is now head of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR). Last I heard he was headed for Afghanistan in an effort to avoid a monumental catastrophe for millions who do not deserve our anger - they deserve our love and compassion. I hope we all remember the starving young children in Afghanistan. We may be nervous and sad now; they are crushed by their own evil government and now they may wait for the most powerful country in the world to rain down its righteous anger on their innocent heads. I truly hope our leaders take this into account, and not hurt the innocent as these cowardly fanatics have done here, to so many. We must be different, and target only those who would destroy all we believe in. The innocent need our help. They have no defense and are completely vulnerable. If we protect and help them, we shall set an example for all the world, and those who would spread terror will truly have no safe haven anywhere. Love is stronger than hate.
