cool post, CB. Been thinking of going for the big bite (my #1 mortgage, due 2003). Am ready to take on the pain of pre-payment penalties, but it just does not make sense. Money aggregate (guess its M3) growth at this moment is in the forties (!) and it is not meant for the long-term side and for J6P. It's the market mechanism itself that's getting poured full of oil. We dont need no education, we dont want another hedge fund go the dark sarcasm of investing Investor, leave the Street alone. Hey! Dodos, leave them kids alone! All in all it's just another brick in the wall. All in all you're just another brick in the wall.
