HG,

My 12 year old daughter absolutely loves that song, as it reflects the relationship between a dad and his daughter. She is our only daughter, (I am not sure if your other children are girls or boys) but because Emily is the only girl she thinks that song is great. Needless to say she has her dad wrapped around her little finger. She used to say she wanted a sister. She has now says, she is glad she is the only girl cause otherwise she would not be able to be "the only little girl in daddy's heart"

I think the neat thing about the song is the fact that it follows through the stages of a child's life. I see Emily developing and having and a bit of an interest in boys. (more teen idol type boys now as opposed to wanting a "boyfriend") But anyway I see her entering the stage in the song where it talks about the boy walking her home from school, a little young for that even yet, but it is just around the corner. (Have to work on an alternative plan for rules for dating as locking her in the closet just does not seem like a successful way to prevent dating and teenaged heartache!!!)
