REM - I have something like 6 of their albums. It's hard to understand them sometimes, but I like the sound of it. I have to say that the musical quality is more important than the lyrics to me, generally. Probably just the way my brain works. Lyrics shouldn't get in the way unless they are the central to the song (then the music shouldn't get in the way).

I love instrumental music. Always have. But, you know, I even like opera (but heck I don't understand German, Italian and French, so I guess it goes back to just being music.) From the translations of the librettos, it doesn't seem that I'm missing THAT much! Might be my simple boorish nature showing through, but I should get points for listening, right?
