Is this a once-in-a-decade opportunity?
As the Nasdaq digs its way toward 1996 levels, the smart money looks at its 10-year moving average -- conveniently, about 1,560 -- and sees the chance of a lifetime.

Stocks worldwide are declining this week for reasons that exceed real economic losses and the usual flagellants of fear and regret. Once celebrated, now despised, they are being cast out into the dark by investors due to sheer uncertainty. Why own a share of Cisco Systems (CSCO, news, msgs), sellers wonder, when the future of both its business and the country are so unknown? You can hear the murmur across the land: Frankly, my dear, I'd rather have cash.

Hi Eric,

I think CSCO is a steal relative to a year ago, yes. Relative to where we will go within 18 months of now I think it is both expensive and inexpensive.

Which is to say that I think it will go lower than here, but I also think that it will go higher. All within the next 18 months.

I am hesitant to put an economic value on the company just yet because I haven't seen the latest 10K. But I think the fundamental value and purchase price still have some converging to do based on the modelling I've done so far.

John.
