Scary theory, but quite plausible. There's also all those nukes that the former U.S.S.R. has. With the mafia having quite a bit of power over there, it wouldn't surprise me too much if nuclear weapons were sold to some terrorist group for a few million. Whichever way things go, it's a lose-lose situation for everyone IMO.

hi Maurice Winn, i can only hope your scenario is unrealistic...unfortunately, it is not so. we must indeed live with the specter of a nuclear attack on a major US city. however, i believe there is a deterrent--that the US would then take off the gloves and nuke the country responsible for the action. or if that country is not identifiable, a grab bag of the usual suspects would be nuked. already there are calls to start nuclear attacks in response to the "conventional" attack last week. i doubt that will happen this time around, but i'm sure the state sponsors of terrorism can imagine that the US will take out civilian populations with nukes if there is a biochemical or nuclear attack on the US.
