On the one hand you're right: for those people who have followed this thread for a while, his true face is clear.

On the other hand:

1) Those casual lurkers/posters could very well be taken in by his disinformation (and he's VERY good at it).

2) It goes to the issue of credibility. Suppose someone was posting on the subject of nuclear bombs under the name Takahashi and his profile said he lived in Nagasaki. Wouldn't you naturally pay more attention than if his "name" was (pick Russian name) from Moscow. Gustave may live in Brussels, but he appears to be deliberately using a German name to make himself appear "reasonable".
[And this really irritates me, given that my wife is European]

Now, I'm not complaining about using pseudonyms (after all, I do), but I believe he is doing it deliberately to mislead. I do it just to protect my identity.
