DOn, I have high low data for the NASDAQ back to May of 1984 but the low end basically stayed around -300 to -350 during steep drops with the only exceptions being 1987, 1990 and 1998 until now. '87 had a spike down to -2100 and 90 was down around 800 according to my data. 1998 spiked twice and reached -1300 and -1500 before it finally improved.
