Re Israel and occupied land. The fundamental problem is that Israel was a "designer" state, made and blessed by the UN. Accordingly, its boundaries are subject to the constraints and resolutions of the UN. Simultaneously, with the creation of Israel, the UN also stated that the Palestinians were to have their homeland. So, as I read it, Israel is not free to keep the land gained in military conflict.

Anyway, it seems that the Israel/Palestine polemic is now "small-fish" compared to what is ahead. Here's an excellent article which gave me, and others, a good insight into the magnitude of the problem confronting the Western world --- the Wahhabis.
