Is it a commercial package or purely homegrown? Homegrown. 3 1/2 years of growing... Do you use an API to tie into your broker? FIX protocol? API. Switching to new brokerage relationship now. Not sure whether I'll stick with an API, or go FIX protocol. Do you use the same software for backtrading as you do to feed your executions? I really don't 'backtest'. Instead, I realtime paper trade new systems. Since I can test again every single stock, using every single tick and quote adjustment, backtesting just doesn't make sense. Data required is just too huge. Instead, I am able to do papertrading of a very large number of trades every day. -Eric
