Jim, Re: "If it was me I'd take or stay at the more secure job. At least until we get thru' this."

I second that.

Ahhhh. To make it clear, my job is effectively unchanged, just how I'm paid.
I like my cash but greed and I see those that had options in the same company over the last 15-20 years are ready to retire.
Lets say it's AMD or TI imagine several thousand stock options but getting paid half to do the same job. The new job title might lead to mid / upper management based on your abilities. Its not really a job change but status change....there is not risk other than how I'm paid.

I get paid well currently but my title is maxed, there is no more glory. I can sustain forever and die making 100,000. But I have needs, i need to progress, I need to feel like I'm moving up...currently....I'm still young. Progress can lead to increased options and responsibility the chance to make a greater difference.

you see its complicated. I have needs to achieve, I can't help it.. I need to continuously grow and contribute...i can be the best at any level, but its a long road with sacrifice.
