And Yes I do believe that someday LSI will be at $100 or even $250/shr. Perhaps not tomorrow, or the day after, But 5-10 years from now it will be there.

I knew that you didn't pull those numbers at random! Don't be surprised if 5-10 years from now, some of your darling stocks no longer exist, or exist as mere vestiges of their past.

I recall in that year you had claimed techs would never be back to the levels they had been in 1995-97 - but of course only to see the biggest run ever during the following 2 years!

I don't recall if I said that but let me tell you this -- the markets stopped trading on fundamentals sometime around 1997. The fact that the speculative blowoff towards the top lasted far longer and went far higher than almost anybody expected, is ominous. It indicates that the downswing will last far longer and will go far lower than almost anybody expects.

Btw, as far as you are concerned, I don't expect the market to scare you out. After all, you have refused to even call it a bear market -- after going through a 70% decline and in the case of LSI, a near 90% decline. What this market will do to you is to wear you out. Two or three years of underperforming T-bills, REITs, utilities and other income investments will probably do the job in your case.

Addi:

I saw this on another thread :

If you bought $1000 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.

If you bought $1000 worth of Budweiser (the beer, not the stock) one year ago, drank all the beer, and traded in the cans for the nickel deposit, you would have $79.

My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.

:-) So, when does LSI start underperforming the beer? My calculations show when it goes below 7 bucks... Very likely, in this environment. Especially since the little guy has just started throwing up and we have the full month of October with its mutual-fund tax-loss selling activity and all, ahead of us.
