Exactly! If they had done it a year or two earlier, they might have been slaughtered because they weren't prepared enough.

We're discussing a point in time before the 1939 invasion of Poland when Germany made moves into other countries/territories without actually firing a shot. Also, the "re-armament" of the German military is another topic of how maintaining an isolationist view of the world came back to haunt us.

Once Poland was invaded, it was too late to stop the coming war. The chance to do so was before that...
