No, I'm not sure about it, and I clearly said there are two sides to this issue. I also know that you don't know.

This guy Thomas is getting worse than asso was before I put him on ignore. First, he wants to blame the Jews, then its the American Prison System (I guess he hasn't spent a night in any European prisons). Come on, so we have the death penalty. That is not a reflection of the total prison system. Rights in almost any other 1st world country for someone accussed of a crime don't compare to the US, no way. As for those convicted, our prisons are palaces compared to most of the 1st world. Now he somehow thinks that the Nazi's should have won the war. He's a lunatic. I suggest everyone Ignore him, or at least don't answer his nonsense.

Bye bye Tommy.

Yes but was Britain prepared for a war with Germany in 1939? Have to read up on Dunkirk? So while Germany wan't "planning" according to Hitler's plans, neither was Britian at any time prior to the US's involvement.

My point was the WWII could have been prevented if countries stood up to the Germans in the mid-1930s using diplomatic, economic and military pressure. Instead, countries were not prepared to do so in fear of being attacked. This bought the Germans time to build up a military that could actually back up that preception.

By the way, Hitler's fatal mistake IMO was attacking Russia. If he had just sat still in 1940-41, regrouped, rested and re-armed his military during the next year - he could have attacked Britain as early as 1943 with some success. While a naval blockade was the strategy of the day at the time, air superiority (with long-range and medium-range bombers) would have sufficed to lay seige to the island nation of Great Britain long enough to weaken her into a possible negotiated "peace" if not invasion.

Of course, this is just speculation but still serves as a history lesson to us all.
