ISLAMABAD, Sept 23 (Reuters) - Saudi-born Osama bin Laden,

wanted by the United States as a prime suspect in last week's
attacks in the United States, is missing, the Afghan Islamic
Press agency quoted the ruling Taliban as saying on Sunday.
AIP said Taliban officials were trying to find bin Laden,
who has been based in Afghanistan for the past five years, to
deliver to him an edict by senior clerics asking him to leave
the country.
The United States has threatened to attack Afghanistan if
it does not hand bin Laden over for trial.
