Alibi Dan misleads again:

"Seti at home - real world application results:

setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu

Alpha EV67 1 hr 01 min 00.5 sec
AMD Thunderbird 5 hr 30 min 32.6 sec
sparcv9 8 hr 08 min 30.1 sec
Intel Pentium 4 37 hr 07 min 51.2 sec
"

This is selective reporting and is deliberately misleading. The Pentium 4 result was for ONE (1, uno, ein) report-back.

Likewise, you neglected to report on your Athlon:

22) AMD Athlon 22 2325 hr 38 min 105 hr 42 min 39.8 sec

So, you cite a single instance of a P4 result, which may not have had any opportunity to be optimized/debugged by whoever was doing it, but you choose NOT to report on a result from an Athlon that is nearly THREE TIMES SLOWER.

Likewise, the Duron did not do well.

Reporting benchmarks selectively and without understanding the optimizations done is ludicrous.

Reporting poor P4 results--from a single machine, apparently--while not reporting poor Athlon results is just plain dishonest.

You are a liar and a knave.
